About Kelli

Kelli Short Borges is an award-winning writer with work published in multiple literary journals and anthologies. Her work has been selected for The Wigleaf Top 50 longlist and Best Microfiction 2024 anthology, and has been nominated for Best of the Net, Best Small Fictions, and the Pushcart Prize.

Kelli has always had a passion for reading, and was a reading specialist in the Arizona public school system for many years. Even so, she had never thought seriously about writing. But with a little encouragement from a great teacher and friend, she realized her passion for words extended beyond published books to getting her own stories on the page.

Since then, Kelli has written both fiction and non-fiction, and is currently working on her first novel.

Not only has Kelli's adventurous spirit led her through diverse creative pursuits, it has also taken her around the globe--hiking a glacier in the Washington Cascades, traveling to China to train in martial arts, and Flamenco dancing in Seville.

But she might be happiest relaxing at home with dessert and a good book.
